The Georgia Barbecue Hall of Fame was founded in 2018 and inducted its first class on February 10, 2024 at a ceremony and banquet held at the Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club.
Our mission is to collect and preserve the rich history and traditions of Georgia Barbecue by recognizing and honoring a distinguished and select group of innovators, visionaries, leaders, and luminaries who have made significant contributions to the art, science, business, or sport of Georgia Barbecue.
The Georgia Barbecue Hall of Fame is truly for the entire State of Georgia. Eligibility is open to anyone with connections to the State of Georgia, and is not limited to those associated with any particular organization or group. The By-Laws specifically state that the Hall of Fame “shall consider the merits of each submitted nominee based on their achievements or contributions to the development and advancement of the art, science, business, or sport of barbecue in the State of Georgia, without regard to their affiliations, or lack thereof.”
The Georgia Barbecue Hall of Fame is recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
