Welcome to the home of the Georgia Barbecue Hall of Fame. Our mission is to collect and preserve the rich history and traditions of Georgia Barbecue by recognizing and honoring a distinguished and select group of innovators, visionaries, leaders, and luminaries who have made significant contributions to the art, science, business, or sport of Georgia Barbecue.

If you’d like to nominate someone for the Hall of Fame please see the Nomination Process for more information. You’ll find instructions on nominating an individual, group, team, organization, business, restaurant, or any other entity who has made a significant contribution to Georgia Barbecue.

To submit a nomination you can use the online Nomination Form or download, complete, and return it via mail or email.

As nominations are received, the list of nominees currently under consideration for induction into the Georgia Barbecue Hall of Fame will be updated periodically.

The  class of 2024 was inducted on February 10, 2024, but we continue to take public  nominations for the class of 2025 and future years.

The Georgia Barbecue Hall of Fame was founded in 2018 and inducted its first class on February 10, 2024 at a ceremony and banquet held at the Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club.

Our mission is to collect and preserve the rich history and traditions of Georgia Barbecue by recognizing and honoring a distinguished and select group of innovators, visionaries, leaders, and luminaries who have made significant contributions to the art, science, business, or sport of Georgia Barbecue.

The Georgia Barbecue Hall of Fame is truly for the entire State of Georgia.  Eligibility is open to anyone with connections to the State of Georgia, and is not limited to those associated with any particular organization or group.   The  By-Laws specifically state that the Hall of Fame “shall consider the merits of each submitted nominee based on their achievements or contributions to the development and advancement of the art, science, business, or sport of barbecue in the State of Georgia, without regard to their affiliations, or lack thereof.” 

The Georgia Barbecue Hall of Fame is recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
